Also having a rethink on Ayew. WH reportedly paying 20mil so looks like he will start weekly, either up top or Right attacker. Problem is they have 2 tricky away fixtures in their 1st 3 games, and I’m wildcarding ready for GW4. Could be back in my team then.
Keep an eye on Austin. He may not play. Puel used Long/Redmond/Tadic as the front 3 in their last game. Talked a bit about making Redmond a striker in the future as well. Long is the safer bet at this point.
Feghouli seems like a bargain, but to be honest he doesn’t score or assist too much. Not saying he’s a bad player, but not prolific enough for FPL. Gradel had a very good debut season, considering he missed 80% of it because of an injury. Still managed to grab a goal and 5 assists. I’ll go either for him or for Ibe.
If you want to get some extra money – I’d consider downgrading Fuchs to Morgan or maybe Baines to Funes Mori/Williams. But I guess you’ve got Baines, because you hope he’ll score and assist so maybe leave it like that.
Also – triple Southampton in midfield/attack? I wouldn’t do a triple from any team, not to mention Southampton who are unproven in Premier League under Puel. If you want that midfielder spot filled with their player – maybe downgrade Tadić to Redmond? The ex-Norwich man can prove his worth this year imo.
Fuchs is a bonus point king, got me so many extra last year, which is why I have him over Morgan. Tadic is the one I’m keeping out of the 3 for sure. Like I said, Hojbjerg is the one I’m trying to get rid of. If I can upgrade Long then I wouldn’t mind.
You dont think Rooney could get around the same amount of points for 2.5m less?? Ibra isnt proven in the league yet. Will all know what Rooney can do in that 10 role and lets face it, he’s racked up points season after season in the past.
I would swap Lallana personally, don’t think he’ll play much. Also having at least a 5.5 midfielder on the bench every week doesn’t end well, plenty of missed points. Would rather downgrade him to a 4.5 and invest the 1m into the midfield.
Vardy away to a Hull who will be lucky to have a squad of 18 come match day, tough tie Home to Arsenal who have defensive worries, then at home Swansea who have sold 2 of their best players and look weak defensively. A punt possibly but yes please il have some of that!
I’ve been delaying making any changes for a few weeks now but with the season 48 hours away, this is going to be pretty close to my final draft. Ibra’s high ownership forced my hand somewhat but I’m not prepared to take the risk. As such, my frontline is more expensive than I’d like it to be, so I’ve had to cut back in other areas, notably the defence and fourth choice midfielder.
First off, Targett will start GW1 in a favourable fixture vs Watford – Puel has confirmed that Bertrand is out. If Targett was £4.0m he’d probably be a permanent fixture in my squad as he was last year, but at £4.5m this is more of a temporary value pick (I don’t like the look of many £4.5m defenders) and he’ll likely be out as a free transfer or even in my first wildcard.
Albrighton is another risky pick…I didn’t particularly want to gamble with another new transfer (in Fischer, or Feghouli, etc) and Albrighton started in the Community Shield with a share of free kick duties. I’m still mulling over my fourth midfielder choice but I’ve gone with Albrighton for now.
The big elephant in the room is Benteke, apparently a deal has been agreed between Palace and Liverpool. He fits their more direct playstyle and he’ll 100% be the focal point of that attack. At the end of the day, I needed a differential striker and he fits the bill. The only issue here is that he faces competition from other cheaper options such as Long, Gray and Wilson.
